Carole was an emcee for this December 2023 webinar by the Brain Injury Association of America, outlining the organization's plans for the future. Carole's role included introducing speakers and sharing her thoughts and experiences as a brain injury survivor.
Carole co-leads the Brain Injury Advisory Council of the Brain Injury Association of America. In this October 2022 Butch Alterman Survivor Webinar, Council members draw upon their 130 combined years of experience living with brain injury. Topics include brain fatigue, overload and not knowing your limits, loss of identity, denial, difficulty expressing yourself, coping with family members and friends who do not understand brain injury and finding and getting appropriate care.
Carole is a member of the Traumatic Brain Injury Technical Assistance & Resource Center's TBI Advisory & Leadership Group. In August 2022, members created this webinar, focused on how brain injury survivors can become involved and stay actively engaged in community, state and national brain injury initiatives.
Carole served on the faculty of the National Center on Advancing Person-Centered Practices & Systems (NCAPPS) Brain Injury Learning Collaborative. At the close of the project in October 2021, she and other brain injury survivors who participated in the Collaborative created this webinar, sharing their experiences and lessons for others.
